Aileen Chang, MD

Aileen Chang, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco. She is Director of the Dermatology Consult Service at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center and co-Director of the Social Determinants of Health Curriculum for the UCSF Department of Dermatology.

Dr. Chang’s research is rooted in advancing health equity in dermatology for populations locally and globally. For over a decade, Dr. Chang led transnational, multidisciplinary projects related to lymphedema and wound care management in East Africa, telemedicine-enabled learning platforms in Botswana, and developing dermatology capacity in low-and-middle-income countries. Dr. Chang’s current research broadly focuses on the intersection of social determinants of health and dermatology. Her specific areas of interest include identifying social factors that influence dermatologic disease, integration of social care and dermatologic care, and dermatologic care of marginalized and minoritized populations.
