Psoriasis
Patients with Psoriasis are treated in several practices. Please read the following information to identify which practice is best for the management of you or your patient's psoriasis.
Mild Psoriasis
- Mild Psoriasis involves very limited areas of the body (less than 10% of the body surface).
- Mild Psoriasis is usually treated with topical medications.
- Patients with mild Psoriasis should make an appointment in General Dermatology.
Moderate to Severe Psoriasis
- Moderate Psoriasis involves 10 - 25% of the body surface.
- Severe Psoriasis involves more than 25% of the body surface.
- Pustular Psoriasis patients are considered to have severe psoriasis.
- These forms of Psoriasis may require systemic (pills or shots) or light therapy to control them.
- Patients with moderate or severe Psoriasis should make an appointment at the Psoriasis Day Care Center.
National Psoriasis Foundation
All patients with Psoriasis are encouraged to join the National Psoriasis Foundation, a support group for Psoriasis patients.
